New Student Move-in Times

Most new first-year students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignment on August 23, 2024. Transfer students will have a Move-in Window on August 23, 2024.  Along with your belongings, please pack your patience. While this system avoids a major traffic jam, there may still be a wait. And don’t worry—the Trinity University Police Department (TUPD) will be present to help direct traffic.

New students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignments. It is imperative that students follow their assigned move-in date and time frame.

Special Program Move-In Dates and Times

First-Year Student Move-In Instructions: For Team Trinity to assist you with move-in, please label all your belongings with your name, residence hall, and room number. For us to best direct you, please write your residence hall on a sheet of paper and place it on your car dashboard.

New international students and students participating in special programs (such as Skyline Scholars, the Plunge, and the Academic Success Program) will receive special move-in information and times.

Any fall athletes with an early move-in will receive information from their coach.

Returning Student Move-in Times

Returning students will arrive on campus based on their residence hall assignment. Please note that returning students may also move in at any point between 8 a.m. and noon on Sunday, August 25.

Returning students living in one of the residence halls must go to the Witt Center first to get their key card coded for their new room. City Vista residents will have their key card coded on site.

Move-in Day FAQs

What should I pack or prepare in advance for move-in day?

Students and families should prepare to bring the following items to protect themselves and others. It is very hot and humid in August in South Texas. Be careful of heat exhaustion.

  • Masks (optional)
  • Water bottles (bring extras!)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat/cooling towel or sweat bands
  • A great attitude!
What if we have multiple cars with us?

If you are bringing multiple loaded vehicles, follow the move-in instructions provided and the route to the residence hall for unloading. If one of your vehicles is empty, park in either Alamo Stadium Lot (east residence halls) before unloading at the residence hall to limit traffic and overflow of designated loading spots. TUPD will assist in directions to the Alamo Stadium parking lot.

Will there be volunteers to help or answer questions?

There will be Trinity staff and faculty volunteers stationed at each residence hall to assist in answering your questions, showing you to your residence hall, and greeting you with a warm welcome. These volunteers will be in fun maroon shirts - you can’t miss them!
